Waterslide Coodercaster Offset Burgundy Mist,Mojo Supro Valco Lap Steel & DeArmond Gold Foil Pickups

This is one of my newest custom made Waterslide Coodercaster guitars and it's all "Made in the USA". As with all of my builds, if you like this guitar but would prefer a different neck, pickguard, pickups, etc, just send me a message and we'll see what we can do.

Those of you familiar with Coodercasters know that the design of these old Valco-style lap steel pickups typically results in a middle position where three strings are in-phase and three are out. We've worked with Mojo to come up with a solution to that problem so all Waterslide Coodercasters with Mojo UK Lap Steel & Gold Foil pickups now feature our new switching system which allows all six strings to be in-phase with each other when both pickups are 'on'. Check out the video below for an example of this in action.

This guitar features a beautifully aged Burgundy Mist Metallic Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish on a lightweight Alder body. The guitar weighs in at 8oz so it's a nice weight for a Coodercaster, especially an Offset/J-Style, with tons of sustain & great balance.

The Maple & Rosewood neck has a late-50's 'C' profile that has a chunky thickness (.90" - .99") and a 25.5" scale length that's 1.685" at the bone nut with a 10" radius and 6105 frets. It has a light, slightly tinted satin finish that feels great and will not get sticky when playing.

The bridge pickup is a Mojo UK 'Valco-Style' Lap Steel Pickup which is very fat sounding with tons of sustain and punch. These are uniquely sensitive pickups which nail the vintage character and tone of the original design. Primarily used by slide players like Ry Cooder, Jason Isbell and Blake Mills, these Lap Steel pickups have a special magic with open tunings and bottleneck playing.

The neck pickup is a Mojo UK DeArmond-style Gold Foil pickup which recreates DeArmond's design that was commonly used on Harmony & Silvertone guitars in the 50's & 60's. It holds its own with the Lap Steel pickup with a sweet top end and a P90-ish grind that provides a nice complement, tonally. It's housed in a traditional Jazzmaster pickup cover with Gold Foil accents.

The string-thru-body bridge is by Hipshot with stainless steel saddles and a comfortable profile for right hand muting.

There's also CTS audio taper pots, a Paper In Oil .047 cap and cloth covered wiring. The vintage-style Hofner "Teacup" knobs and Lucite brushed gold pickguard tie it all together.

Great parts and great care go into these guitars and this one comes in a hardshell case for $2,100 + Shipping. Please email me for international shipping rates.

I also take custom orders so If you like to custom order a Coodercaster to your specs, send me an email at waterslideguitars@gmail.com
