Made in the USA, this guitar features an Aged Black Nitro Lacquer finish on a super lightweight, chambered Alder body. Total weight is 7lbs 2oz.
It's got a fully PLEK'd Maple/Rosewood neck with a 50’s Soft V-C profile that's .86" at the first fret, 25.5" scale length that's 1.65" at the bone nut with a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets. It has a light, slightly aged satin finish that feels great and will not get sticky when playing. The pearloid inlays mirror the body color.
The bridge pickup is a Lollar Lap Steel Pickup which is very fat sounding with tons of sustain and punch. These are uniquely sensitive pickups which nail the vintage character and tone of the original design. Primarily used by slide players like Ry Cooder, Jason Isbell and Blake Mills, these Lap Steel pickups have a special magic with open tunings and bottleneck playing.
The neck pickup is Lollar’s ‘Mini Broiler’ pickup with a custom Silver Foil top and oval pickup ring. Their version of the vintage Rick Toaster pickup, these have the traditional jangle and string clarity you’d expect with a bit more output that sound great with some dirt or fuzz. All six strings remain in-phase in the middle position.
The bridge is a vintage-style trem with a steel block and saddles. There’s also VIPots audio taper pots, a PIO cap and cloth covered wiring with a Pure Tone jack. The Firestripe pickguard, angled switch and vintage style knobs tie it all together.
Great parts and great care go into these guitars and this one comes in a hardshell case.
