This is our new custom aluminum bridge base for Teisco, Harmony, kay etc guitars and basses that have a flat top. If your guitar or bass has an arched top, see our other listings for the archtop base model.
This bridge will help you get that super-hip rubber bridge vibe that started over at Old Style Guitar Shop in LA. Sounds nice and thud-tastic and you can dial the intonation in pretty well this way, which is a nice bonus compared with having a straight rubber bridge. Bridges will ship within one week of ordering.
The lowest these will adjust is about 3/4" from the guitar's body to the top of the rubber saddle, with a maximum height of about 1.5". Please measure your existing bridge height to make sure this will work for your setup. You may have to shim your neck to make this work if your stock bridge is less than 3/4"from the face of the guitar to the top of the saddle. It is a floating bridge base that does not need to be screwed down to the face of your guitar as it's held in place by string tension but you can use some double-faced tape to hold it in place if you'd like.
In the demo video, I've got one of these on a Teisco/Norma guitar from the 60's. I've also tested this on a Harmony H22 bass as well a a variety of 6-string guitars that have flat tops.
You'll want to use flatwound strings for best response and better “thunk”. The saddle on ours is made from industrial rub
